Southwest Region/Ranges

This NASSA USA Region services Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.

Arizona, in the Southwest Region, has the distinction of being the first state to begin holding metallic silhouette matches in the USA. Arizonans traveling across the Mexico border brought this sport back with them to gun clubs in Arizona. 1960’s……….

Tucson Rifle Club, pushed by Roy Dunlap (“the Father of Silhouette in the USA”), built a silhouette range and were invited to join the Northern League (Liga Internacionale del Norte) of Mexican Clubs, for organized competition.

Tucson had their first competition in the Northern League in 1969. Soon, other Arizona gun Clubs joined the Nothern League.

Whittington Center….. one of two ranges that can hold the Nationals…..strong HP, SB and LA programs….
