
The Smallbore Rifle Benchrest Silhouette Rules have been revised in time for the 2026 SK Lone Star Cup (June 6-7, 2026).
These rule changes are based on competitor feedback from the 2025 SK Lone Star Cup and other monthly smallbore rifle benchrest silhouette club matches.
The revised rules will clarify some small issues that have arisen as we grow this silhouette discipline!

Below is also a quick summary of the rule changes. This information will also be emailed to all competitors that signed up for the 2026 SKLSC rifle benchrest silhouette event. for the 2026 SKLSC.

1.6 Spotters – Spotters are prohibited and competitors should not share information regarding conditions or best practices while on the firing line.
1.6.1 – Exception – Certain junior shooters may be allowed assistance, including spotting, by a parent or other mature, responsible person. Such assistance is at the match director’s discretion and may be limited in any way that the match director sees fit. The match director’s decision to allow or refuse such assistance is not subject to protest.
3.1.1 Front Support – A front rest is allowed. The rifle must not be placed on the front rest in such a fashion as to allow the rifle to balance on the rest. The rifle may not be locked into the front rest (bipods attached to the rifle are allowed).
3.1.1.1 The distance between the foremost and rearmost points where the frond rest contacts the rifle shall not exceed six inches.
3.1.1.2 The front rest shall only contact the rifle forward of the action.
3.1.2 Rear Support – The rear of the rifle must be supported by the competitor’s shoulder and shooting hand. No part of the rifle may contact the bench or ground. The shooter’s elbows, forearms, and chest may contact the bench or ground.
3.1.2.1 Non-shooting hand – The non-shooting hand may not support the rifle in any way. The non-shooting hand shall not contact the rifle on or behind the trigger guard.
3.1.2.1.1 The non-shooting hand shall not come into contact with both the rifle and the bench, ground, or artificial support at any point rear of the front rest.
3.1.2.1.2 The non-shooting hand shall not contact the shooter’s body above the waist.
