Match Course of Fire
The SK Lone Star Cup (SKLSC) Steering & Organizing Committees will develop and run an optimized match program focused on creating an unprecedented Southern USA/Northern Mexico International Super Regional Championship. The SKLSC will feature both a Smallbore Silhouette Standard Rifle Championship as well as the newly introduced Smallbore Benchrest Silhouette discipline.
Smallbore Silhouette Standard Rifle Course of Fire:
- The SKLSC will be an “All Standard Rifle Championship”. This will support Mexican shooters who wish to bring their Standard Rifles to Houston as there is no Hunting Rifle class in Mexico. Since many Mexican shooters also need to borrow rifles, there will be more silhouette rifles available since many US shooters have Standard Rifles to loan in addition to Hunter Rifles to their Mexican friends.
- Course of fire will be (2) 40-shot Standard Rifle matches on Saturday and (2) 40-shot Standard Rifle matches on Sunday for an aggregate of 160 shots. The 160-shot aggregate will incentivize more US out-of-state and Mexican shooters to show up as Sunday will be a full day of shooting.
- Three-man team matches will alsp be conducted using only Saturday’s 80 shot aggregate to determine the championship teams in Open, Master AAA and A classes.
The SKLSC will be run under current NRA Sillhouette Smallbore Standard Rifle Rules. We wish to point out the following for the benefit of all our competitors:
NRA Standard Rifle configuration rules will apply and rifles may be certified prior to the start of the event.
A Match Jury will be named by the for the SKLSC to judge all disputes brought to them by the SKLSC Match Director.
The SKLSC Stat Office will take the needed measures to verify a shooter’s applicable classification. If for any reason a dispute takes place to define a shooter’s classification, the Match Jury will make the final decisions.
Smallbore Silhouette Benchrest Course of Fire:
Smallbore Benchrest Silhouette will follow a similar course of fire as the Silhouette Standard Rifle in that these competitors will shoot on the same relays as the Silhouette Standard Rifle competitors using the same range commands, the 15 second ready and 2 1/2 minutes of firing for record.
The biggest difference in setting the animals is that all (6) banks of all (4) relays of Smallbore Benchrest Silhouette will start with chickens and progress to pigs, turkeys and rams in that order.

SKLSC Junior Sponsorship Program
No singular element in the SKLSC Vision & Mission is more important than increasing the % of juniors traveling to and participating in our championship matches. A focus on junior participation is critical to hitting our SKLSC year (1) target of 100 participants and more importantly, critical to sustaining our silhouette discipline! Mexico shares similar concerns about attracting more junior shooters to their championship matches.
Therefore, the SKLSC Steering Committee is implementing a formal SKLSC Junior Sponsorship Program. We are confident in its success as the NASSA South Central Region has excelled in recruiting juniors to the major championship matches in Texas and Louisiana in 2024. For example, 50% of the total attendance at the Texas Regional SB Championships in Beaumont, Texas were junior shooters. Much of this is due to the collaborative effort between local Match Directors and the Louisiana 4-H State Program.
SK Junior Ammo Donations – The first element of our SKLSC Junior Sponsorship Program we are proud to implement is the SK Rifle Match Ammo Junior Donation Program.
EVERY JUNIOR WHO ATTENDS THE 2025 SKLSC WILL GET A BRICK OF SK RIFLE MATCH (500 ROUNDS) TO SHOOT OUR MATCH!
This SK Rifle Match Ammo Junior Donation Program is one of several initiatives your SKLSC Steering Committee is curreltly pursuing to support our Junior Silhouette Shooters! We will keep you posted as we explore and implement these other junior initiatives.
SKLSC Cash & Awards Program
SKLSC Cash Program
At this point, we have a minimum of $2500.00 US in cash prizes available that could grow depending on how our SKLSC budgeting shapes up. Cash will be distributed to the individual 160-shot aggregate SKLSC Open Champion, 2nd Open, 3rd Open and a certain number of places into Master, AAA, AA and A Classes. We will follow a similar tiered cash distribution logic as the Lapua Monarch Cup Cash Program. This includes B Class not be awarded any cash, but limited to trophy-type awards.
The Sk Lone Star Cup Steering Committee will post the cash criteria as soon as it become available below. ALL PROCEEDS & DONATIONS WILL BE PUMPED BACK IN TO THE SKLSC CASH & AWARDS PROGRAM, THE PRIZE TABLE, FOOD, TARGET SETTERS AND OTHER CURRENT & FUTURE MATCH EXPENSES.
CASH AWARD CRITERIA TO BE POSTED HERE AFTER IT BECOME AVAILABLE
SKLSC Awards Program
The trophy awards for the aggregate SKLSC Open Champion, 2nd Open, 3rd Open and a certain number of places into Master, AAA, AA, A and B Classes for our Standard Rifle Silhouette program are now being fabricated. Included in this is the three-man team awards for Saturday’s 80 shot aggregate. High animal count awards will also be given along with the aggregate/team awards similar to what is done in Mexico silhouette matches. The quality of the trophy awards will be proportional to the prestige we wish to build for the SKLSC.
REMEMBER – ALL PROCEEDS & DONATIONS WILL BE PUMPED BACK IN TO THE SKLSC CASH & AWARDS PROGRAM, THE PRIZE TABLE, FOOD, TARGET SETTERS AND OTHER CURRENT & FUTURE MATCH EXPENSES.
We will also determine the criteria for the aggregate trophy awards for our top Benchrest Silhouette shooters as we currently implementing a shooter classification system for this new discipline. This will be done to help promote the growth of Benchrest Silhouette.
Bayou Rifles Range Capacity
Our goal for the inaugural SK Lone Star Cup is 100+ shooters. You can help us achieve this and continue to make the SKLSC grow! The Bayou Rifles Addicks Range currently has (6) smallbore banks per animal, so (24) animal stations per relay. We are currently planning on shooting 4 relays so that gives us a capacity of (96) shooters for our standing silhouette competitors.
In addition, we have (6) banks for smallbore benchrest silhouette for our younger and older shooters. With (4) relays, that gives us (24) animal stations for smallbore benchrest silhouette. That is a total capacity on (4) relays of (120) total shooters for both smallbore silhouette disciplines.
Bayou Rifles Inc. has potential expansion capability of (2) more banks per animal or (32) animal stations per relay. That would expand the capacity of standing smallbore silhouette to (128) for 4 relays. We are already thinking ahead to make the SKLSC even more successful. Please come and support us and make this a reality!
