Many Rifle Silhouette shooters have never experienced crossing the International borders between Canada, Mexico and the USA to shoot a Leg of the LMC Championship Series. Regardless of the country hosting the match, the Host Club and Match Director are required to assist all Rifle Silhouette shooters from other countries with travel tips, accommodations, lodging and other logistical matters. This is done to ensure every shooter is encouraged to participate in the entire LMC Championship Series, have an exceptional experience and do so in a safe and orderly manner.
Mexico, Canada and the USA all have specific requirements for traveling through Customs with a firearm. We have included a summary of information on these specific requirements to get you started. You will be rewarded with perhaps the highlight of your time shooting Rifle Silhouette!
Traveling to Mexico

Upon Arrival…..
Mexico Firearms Permit:
Mexico required a firearms permit for both US and Canadian shooters to enter the country with a firearm. The Mexican LMC Match Director will be responsible for obtaining Mexico Firearms Permits for shooters arriving from the USA.
USA Form 4457 (Certificate of Registration for Personal Effects Taken Abroad):
Form 4457 must be filled out by US Citizens to register your rifle, scope.. Detail important critieria such as s/n’s etc.
- This form should be filled out before you go to Mexico.
